“I hide, you seek” by Savo

Stop by Brick Row Gallery, 21325 Catawba Ave. in Cornelius, on Saturday, Sept 27, for an afternoon of exceptional local art and community. An art reception for “Reclaimed Nature,” works by Savo is planned from 3 to 7 pm. Drinks and light hors d’oeuvres will be provided.
“Reclaimed Nature” features original paintings of wildlife on the medium of found wood. Peter Savo expresses his passion for wildlife by painting one-of-a kind pieces of wood that would have been discarded. His work is a realistic depiction of animals in their habitat.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Peter Savarese realized a passion for animals and drawing since childhood. His art study began at the Brooklyn Museum of Natural History and progressed to graduation from the High School of Art and Design in Manhattan. Peter followed a calling to become a NYC Firefighter and continued his art as a hobby, donating pieces locally and internationally to fundraisers for children and natural preservation societies.
Peter also has been in construction for many years and has witnessed the destruction of greenways and the waste of raw materials. He began collecting and painting on construction waste materials to bring awareness of this misuse. This evolved to the formation of a “Save A Species” effort to educate the public of the destruction of the oceans, wetlands and wildlife, where a portion of proceeds were donated to the Wild Life Conservation Society and National Wildlife Foundation.
